Recruitment Officer - Leading Charity Retailer - Job Summary
This is an unique and exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in the "volunteering Sector" to really challenge and shape the future recruitment of this well know charity within their retail environment.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting Retail/Shop Managers to recruit, retain and allocate volunteers in line with operational needs and workload, including maintaining and adapting relevant systems as necessary on a full time basis
You will be required to work at multiple retail sites across the region as well as being involved with the head office team so it is essential that you have a clean licence and are a car owner.
Recruitment Officer - Leading Charity Retailer - Role Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting Retail/Shop Managers to recruit, retain and allocate volunteers in line with operational needs and workload, including maintaining and adapting relevant systems as necessary on a full time basis (40 hours per week).
A point of contact for all retail volunteering.
Consulting Shop Managers on their requirements, the Head of Retail on strategic plans, the Retail Operations Manager on retail best practice, and liaising with the Volunteering Manager regarding volunteering best practice.
Enables Shop Managers to ensure their volunteers are aware of and adhere to the charities policies and procedures.
Works closely with all colleagues to ensure that retail volunteers are involved in delivering charities mission.
Proactively communicates retail volunteering operational changes to Shop Managers and supports them to develop their volunteers to ensuring income targets are exceeded and there are development plans for volunteers to support succession planning
Works closely with Retail Operations Manager to ensure that volunteers are involved in all aspects of the retail operation and two-way communication is encouraged.
Works with the Volunteering Manager to maintain high standards in volunteers recruitment, selection, induction, on-going support, training, recognition and communication.
Understands the importance of good customer service skills so is able to ensure volunteers receive the correct training, advice and support in line with Retails standards and expectations.
Maintains records of volunteer concerns and takes action in conjunction with colleagues, when necessary.
Promotes the work and recruitment of volunteers by attending relevant internal and external meetings and events.

- Experience of directly coordinating volunteering proven interpersonal and customer care skills and experience of managing internal and external relationships, able to work as part of a small team
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly, autonomously and under pressure
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- The ability to prioritise sometimes conflicting tasks
- IT literate especially with Microsoft Word and Excel Clean UK Driving Licence
