Job Summary

Our client is an award winning Contract Catering company who are looking for an Operations Director to ensure the profitable and efficient delivery of the contract catering within the education sector.

You will have full responsibility for the delivery of the strategic objectives of multiple contracts valuing up to £15mil and will be responsible for 5 Operations Manager. This is a business who pride themselves on great service and having great people within their business.

This role will cover the East Anglia area.

Role Responsibilities

Your role will be to lead a team to deliver the overall strategic and commercial objectives of the company in relation to the contracts. As part of the role you will manage high profile clients and be expected to maximise the client relationships through close communication and surpassing operational expectations. You will review the business performance of your field operational managers and ensure the consistent delivery of key financial and service requirements.

  • Manage a team of Operations and Account Managers to provide the highest levels of quality service delivery to all customers
  • Proactively identify opportunities to extend the scope of services on each contract and liaise with the sales team to secure additional service
  • Take full responsibility for the financial performance to deliver the national budget
  • To define and deliver excellent standards of management performance through the team
  • Regularly review service delivery levels to deliver continuous improvement to ultimately secure contract retention and development
  • Ensure the team develops to ensure succession planning requirements
  • Promote safe working practices throughout the contract

The Ideal Candidate

  • A demonstrable record of growing and developing national high worth contracts
  • Previous ultimate accountability for national high worth contracts
  • Demonstrate success in high level service delivery while ensuring the ongoing growth, profitability and retention of the contract
  • Experience in managing change
  • Extensive experience of delivering P&L management with strong financial management and forecasting ability to deliver profitable contracts
  • Highly motivated and effective leadership, able to drive momentum in achieving objectives and engaging the motivation and commitment of the team to achieve the highest standards
