Job Summary

Our client is an independent pub company that has a collection of amazing venues with a fantastic reputation for their food and drink offering. They are committed to serving seasonally inspired cooking and providing great service in superbly designed pubs, each with its own individually distinct characteristics. Their experienced teams of Chefs prepare all of the dishes from fresh, using carefully sourced ingredients. They pride themselves on their food, their service and their people.

Role Responsibilities

You will be required to oversee the day to day activities of the kitchen and be confident across all sections. You will be knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu and how to support the site to ensure that the high levels of quality are always maintained. You will produce starters, mains and desserts as well as being a mentor to help with the development of junior staff members. You will also be require to oversee stock, ordering and audits.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to run kitchen in absence of head chef
  • Ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative
  • Be flexible and the kind of person who jumps in to help out to ensure service is never compromised
  • Positive can do attitude
  • Be confident across all sections in the kitchen
  • Has the ability to cope with a busy kitchen and work safely within all legislations
  • Has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working to high standards
  • Able to give clear direction, delegate effectively and adapt to change
  • Strong decision making skills and organisational skills
  • Ability to assist with menu development
  • Ability to prepare cook and present all dishes
  • Has excellent personal standards regarding time keeping, attendance and personal presentation
