    Why we love Altrincham

Home to our head office, we think Altrincham is one of the best places in the UK and The Times backs us up, naming Altrincham as one of the best places to live in the country in 2022 – but we think Altrincham is a great place to work too.

    Altrincham or Alty

Altrincham (or Alty as locals call it) is home to a thriving independent business scene meaning there is always something new and interesting to sample – from food and drink through to shopping and entertainment.

You will also find a vast range of your favourite national chains from the Great British High Street.

    Why Altrincham is
    a great place to work

We asked #TeamD2R what they think of Altrincham – they had lots to say and even shared some useful recommendations.

"Altrincham is a thriving town again – loads going on, plenty of places to go for lunch and Friday beers – especially the markets in the sun (when the weather allows us to)!"

"Altrincham is a great place to work because it has a strong community feel with a nice mix of retail brands and lots of independent shops, bars and restaurants, so there are lots of great options on our doorstep to grab lunch or drinks with colleagues. It's also nice to be close to Manchester city center - the connections are great - when you want it but I enjoy being in a town environment where there is a more relaxed pace."

"My favourite thing is how it’s got a great mix of shops and restaurants to pop out to on your lunch breaks, and in the evening has a vibrant scene for those who want to go out to the cinema, drinks or for meals."

" Alty markets should go without saying - just fantastic to explore and the atmosphere is great. There is a great selection of pubs in the town - Cheshire Tap is a great shout and the Roebuck near our office is great - it even has a cat called Sausage). There are some great coffee shops - TwoBrothers do my favourite coffee and PureGym in Altrincham is the best one I have tried."

"The thing I like most about Altrincham is it's very compact and everything is close together from transportation links, the tram, bus and train, through to food with great restaurants pubs and bars. It's all very accessible."

"The transport links are great, I can get to work really quickly and I'm able to meet friends in various areas around Greater Manchester or the City Centre after work with no hassle!"

Best place to grab lunch in Altrincham

“Loads of contenders but my go to is Oxford Road Café!”

“Pita Box is great! It is a healthy-ish takeaway place where you can get delicious boxes of salad or pita wraps. I love a lentil salad box or a lamb wrap with kale and carrots. The people who work in there are really lovely and it’s about a 5 minute stroll from the office, right in the middle of Altrincham.”

“I usually pop to M&S or Boots for an easy sandwich or wrap but I love the pizza place in the market.”
